3 Ways to Practice Yoga
Traditionally yoga was only taught by one teacher to one student. Today yoga is still taught individually and in groups both in person classes and online. During COVID online yoga classes became a necessity for many people to keep practicing. Yoga Blogs also are a way to learn more about yoga practice.
Studio and in person Classes:
Yoga studios and wellness programs offer yoga classes taught in person. Group and individual classes are offered at most establishments. Classes are offered weekly and can be purchased in a package or as a drop-in class. Most studios require teachers to be certified and registered to teach yoga. Yoga Alliance is an organization that regulates teacher training programs and requirements for teachers. When looking for a studio class that fits your needs call ahead and ask about the teachers and the classes they offer. Group classes offer a setting to learn with a group of like-minded people. Individual classes offer 1 on 1 support for new students or students with special concerns.
Online yoga Classes:
Online classes are offered as a live streaming class or as a zoom class. In live stream classes the student can see the teacher, but the teacher cannot see the student. Zoom classes students can see teachers and some other students and the teacher can see all the students. Most online classes offer a monthly membership or a yearly membership. Some memberships offer a library of class videos or a combination of live and library classes.
Yoga Blogs:
Blogs are written classes. They can be informational or written as lessons to be read and studied. This is a way to learn about many aspects of yoga and the teacher who writes the blog. Blogs can be read in any order and reread anytime. Most yoga blogs are hosted on a studio website and written by a teacher. The teacher can offer in-depth ideas and advice for students. Blogs offer a way to study and learn about yoga at the student’s own pace. Many blogs offer ideas on how to practice yoga at home.
Yoga practice at Mind Body Spirit Yoga
Mind Body Spirit Yoga is a small local yoga studio that offers 3 ways to practice. The focus of Mind Body Spirit Yoga’s blog is to teach students more about yoga and how to practice. We will look at the benefits of yoga practice. Lessons to explore balance, focus, and strength building in poses. Teach students breathwork practices for energy and self-awareness. Guidance and inspiration for meditation. Each week will incorporate simple ideas to deepen your practice and understanding of all things yoga.
The online membership is a companion to the blog. Join to attend new live-streaming classes and class recordings. Each week I’ll post a monthly schedule of what to practice in the membership.
